One You Kent is a free, countywide lifestyle and wellbeing service providing evidence-based support—including smoking cessation, weight management, physical activity, and healthy lifestyle interventions—to help adults reduce the risk of long-term conditions and address health inequalities.
Role Overview & Purpose
The Healthy Lifestyle Advisor (HLA) delivers weight management and lifestyle behavior change support across community and digital settings. The role involves leading group sessions, one-to-one health coaching, and cookery programs to support individuals with nutrition, activity, mental wellbeing, and sustainable goal setting.

- Program Delivery & Client Support: Deliver adult weight management, nutrition, physical activity, and cookery programs using motivational interviewing, positive psychology, and SMART goal setting.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work alongside GPs and psychotherapists to conduct holistic assessments, develop personalized care plans, and participate in MDT meetings.
- Service Development & Evaluation: Create program content, track client progress data per NICE guidelines, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and provide case studies for reporting.
- Community Engagement: Build local partnerships to boost referrals, represent the service at events, and support social media healthy lifestyle messaging.
- Administration & Operations: Maintain confidential client records, meet deadlines, support new staff/volunteers, and maintain flexibility for travel and occasional evening or weekend work.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Background as a practitioner in community health or wellbeing, supporting positive lifestyle changes.
- Approach & Mindset: Passionate, encouraging, proactive, solution-focused, and open to continuous improvement.
- Communication & Relationships: Skilled in tailored communication, active listening, and building trusting relationships across diverse communities.
